People Operations Specialist
Own payroll, onboarding and HR data for a Paris cybersecurity scale-up, with the room and the AI tools to redesign how People Ops works.
About GitGuardian
GitGuardian is a global cybersecurity scale-up. The company is based in Paris, New-York City, Boston.
Among our early investors who saw our market value proposition, are the co-founder of GitHub, Scott Chacon, along with Solomon Hykes, Docker's co-founder. American and European top-tier VC firms have also invested in GitGuardian who raised its series C early 2026.
GitGuardian helps enterprises close credential-based breach paths. It finds secrets wherever they live, prioritizes remediation based on rich context, and prevents new exposure across code, systems, and AI. The GitGuardian platform is already used by more than 600K developers worldwide and by 50 of the fortune 500!
About your team and your mission
The People team owns the full employee lifecycle and translates company strategy into hiring, performance and development plans, across Europe and the US.
Our current EMEA People Operations Specialist is moving into an HRBP role, so we are looking for the person who will take over her scope and make it their own.
You will be the person Guardians turn to for anything touching their contract, payroll, benefits or first days at the company. You will also be the one the People team relies on to keep our HR data clean and our processes running month after month.
This is a hands-on role with real room to build. Beyond the day-to-day administration, you will own the onboarding journey end to end and help us push automation and AI further into our HR workflows.
You will be part of our 8-people team, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, and you will work closely with the People and Finance teams.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Personnel administration: contracts, onboarding paperwork, medical visit coordination, health insurance, leave tracking and compliance. You will become our in-house expert on Payfit, Deel and our HRIS, Lucca.
Payroll: prepare and check the monthly payroll inputs for France and for our international population, and keep employee data consistent across every tool.
Onboarding and employee experience: own the onboarding journey from preboarding to ramp-up, prepare welcome packs, run onboarding sessions, and turn new hire feedback into concrete improvements.
HR tools and automation: streamline internal processes, automate recurring workflows such as onboarding, reminders and approvals, and test AI solutions where they save the team real time.
HR projects: contribute to the team's projects, from benefits reviews and compliance topics to HRIS improvements (work council, onboarding, data improvement in HRIS and more).
About you
If you think you match at least 70% of these criteria, please apply!
Here's what we consider essential for success in this role:
Minimum 2 years of experience in HR operations in a fast-paced environment, including French payroll on Payfit, HRIS administration on Lucca, and an EOR platform such as Deel, ideally for a company under the Syntec collective agreement.
Fluent in English and French, and used to working in English day to day.
Detail-oriented and organized, able to run several topics at once without dropping any.
Discreet with confidential information and genuinely warm with people: this job is equal parts rigor and People care.
A high level of initiative: you spot what is broken and fix it rather than wait to be asked.
The following skills would strengthen your application but aren't required:
A good grasp of tech startup dynamics, ideally through a period of strong headcount growth.
Comfort with spreadsheets and reporting (pivot tables, nested IFs, IMPORTRANGE).
Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools such as Dust, Claude Cowork or n8n, and the wish to push further.
Why is this role different?
A word from the manager, Gregory, our Chief People Officer: "People Ops is often described as the back office of HR. We see it the other way around. It is the first thing a new Guardian experiences, and the thing everyone notices the day it stops working. So we are not looking for someone to run the process as it is today. We are giving this role the room and the tools, including AI and automation, to redesign how we work. If you would rather fix something once than repeat it every month, you will enjoy it here."
Career path: evolution to more seniority, learning US Ops, and possibly, after 2 to 3 years, an HRBP or Learning and Development role.
